Diploma in Accounting
Details
Course Overview
Every business organization that has economic resources – such as money, machinery and buildings – uses accounting information. For this reason, accounting is called the language of business. Accounting also serves as the language providing financial information about not-for-profit organizations such as governments, churches, charities, fraternities and hospitals. However, these entities are not businesses because they do not operate in a for-profit manner. In this course, we will focus on accounting for business firms.
This qualification reflects professional accounting job roles in financial services and other industries, including tax agents, accounts payable and accounts receivable officers, payroll service providers, and employees performing a range of accounting tasks for organizations in a range of industries. Individuals in these roles apply solutions to a range of often complex problems and analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They apply initiative to plan, coordinate and evaluate their own work and provide guidance to others within defined guidelines.
