These are our most intensive courses where you are on a fast track to communicate effortlessly in Dutch. You will get 40 lesson hours in 10 days (4 x 45 min. per day) and for an extra boost, you will need to invest in self-study. Self-study takes approximately 2 hours each day.
The course includes individual and group work, discussions, listening exercises, and homework. The course focuses on Chapters 4 to 6 of the book "Contact! 1". Participants of this course finish studies at level A1 based on language levels as described in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Course subjects
Food and meals, days of the week, months and seasons, telling the time, appointment, order in a restaurant, asking for directions and giving directions, distance, ways of transportation, making a proposition, making appointments, making reservations,
shopping for clothes, fashion shops, colours, sizes, talking about your family, describing appearances, giving a compliment, talking about emotions, Dutch holidays, talking about character.
Course grammar
Imperative, adverbs hier en daar, short and long vocals: aa/a, oo/o, ee/e, ie/i, uu/u, adjective, ordinal numbers, personal pronoun: subject and object, main clause + subordinate clause and conjunction, possessive pronoun, using 'je'
(subject, object, possessive), talking about the future, separable verb, diminutive.
After completion of the course
After completing the course, participants will be able to order in a restaurant and describe simple activities relative to past and present, talk about their and others' activities and have simple discussions using basic reasoning (therefore, because). They
will be able to order tickets, give and understand directions, and will have increased their knowledge of Dutch geography and activities.
