Details

Want to try something new and  adventurous? Pole dance is a great way to have fun, get fit, feel powerful and fall in love with what your body can do.  This course is totally suitable for anyone, regardless of shape, age, size, gender of current fitness level. No flexibility? No strength? No problem!!

What to expect as a total beginner ?

  • You will probably do a koala impression and hug the pole. This is normal.
  • Your hands will get super sweaty and you’ll slip around a bit. This is normal. In this case we do have some stuff to make your hands less slippery.
  • You’ll feel in beginning like you have no idea what you’re doing. This is normal. We'll take care of that!
  • You’ll experience a crazy adrenaline high and start visualising your professional pole dance career. This is normal
  • You’ll learn some beautiful spins around the pole and several cool moves
  • You’ll learn to sit in the pole (not the most non-painful pose)
  • You’ll learn how to climb and by the end of the course you'll even manage to climb and touch the ceiling on almost 3.5 m high.
  • You may even hang upside down by the end of the course under hard supervision and spotting from the instructor.
What not to expect
  • Don’t expect it to be sexy. Don’t get me wrong: Pole dancing can be very sexy. But it is a combination of acrobatics and gymnastics and we have to own some moves before making it look great!
  • Don’t expect to hang upside down by yourself without the instructor holding you firmly and surely not in the first 10 lessons.

What to wear

  • Dress for less, nothing fancy, the basic beginner pole dancing uniform is short shorts and a tank top. There’s actually a reason pole dancers wear very little clothing – our skin helps us grip onto the pole.

What not to wear?

  • Shoes. We will train bare feet.
  • Jewellery, especially rings and bracelets or anything dangly. They can scratch you or  scratch the pole. Neither are great.
  • Lotion or oils on your skin before pole dance classes. Oils and lotions guarantee that you will not stick to the pole and the person you share the pole with will not either.

What to bring?

  • A bottle of water. It’s a workout. You WILL get thirsty.
  • The expectation that you will sweat.
  • A willingness to trust your instructor.
  • A positive attitude: If you show up thinking you can’t, you won’t. Your attitude is everything

We do have limited places for the course, max 10 persons per class as we want everyone to have a lot of training on the pole. (we have 5 poles).
